A Winder woman with a prescription drug abuse problem pawned Christmas gifts intended for her children and then lied to police about it according to a Winder Police Department incident report.

The 24-year-old mother first told police she didn’t know what happened to a computer that was missing from her home and then she said her step-brother had taken it. The woman’s step-brother told police that he had driven the woman to a pawn shop and the pawn shop owner confirmed that the mother pawned a new computer, a vacuum cleaner and children’s toys.

A homeless man was arrested for public intoxication, open container and public indecency after he allegedly showed himself and yelled drunken obscenities to two sisters at a Norcross Waffle House on Dec. 6.

The sisters told police that upon exiting the Waffle House a homeless man began yelling obscenities at them and grabbed his groin area. The older sister told the man to leave them alone but he continued to follow them to their car. The older sister told police that the man exposed himself to them through the car window.
