Recorder’s Court Offering Amnesty Program

Through the end of March, individuals with outstanding traffic citations in Gwinnett will have the chance to settle their cases without facing additional fines or penalties.

During the amnesty period, the Gwinnett County Recorder’s Court, located at 115 Stone Mountain Street in Lawrenceville, will waive the $25 bench warrant fee and recall the warrant for those who pay their fines. Participants will also receive the necessary forms driver’s license reinstatement if it was suspended for failure to appear in court.

Fines may be paid at the Recorder’s Court from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday during March. Participants should bring a copy of the citation or citation number if possible.

“We will work with these individuals to clear their cases, but all legal requirements must be followed,” said Clerk of Court Jeff West in a released statement. “Individuals must appear in person and be prepared to present identification and sufficient personal information to locate their case.”

Bench warrants will remain active for all individuals with outstanding citations who do not take advantage of the amnesty program.
