Super perigee moon is largest in nearly 20 years.

Tonight's full moon is a super perigee moon, the largest in nearly 20 years according to NASA. The rare event combines a full moon with the moon's perigee, the closest point in the moon's orbit. The last occurrence was in March of 1993.

As a result, tonight's moon will appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than lesser full moons.
