The Great Outdoors: Cardboard Boat Race, Bike Rodeo, Soccer, 5K and Golf

Get outdoors this week in or near our hometown of Dacula.

Call now and register to play in the 10th Annual 680 the Fan Buck and Kincade Golf Classic. This golf tournament benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and takes place at Legacy on Lake Lanier Golf Club. The tournament is broken into two flights both of which include cocktails and a meal and end with entertainment and awards. or call 404-995-5575 to register.

Are you a soccer player? If so get your team of three registered and head out to the Rabbit Hill Soccer Complex on Saturday, June 11 for the 3v3 Live Soccer Tour. This event is open to male and female teams from U6 to adult age brackets. Teams may consist of six players each and each team is guaranteed four games. If you finish in the top four for your division you will receive an invitation to play in the Premier division Regionals in Orlando, Florida.

Saturday, June 11 it’s the first annual Miles-4-Smiles event to benefit the Amanda Riley Foundation. This foundation supports children who are battling cancer. The races will take place at the Holly Pavilion inside Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville. Events scheduled include a 5K race, a 3K elementary student race, and a 1 mile fun run.

Grab your bike or skateboard and get out to Duncan Creek Skate Park on Saturday, June 11 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for this family fun event. There will be a bike rodeo including bike safety and helmet fitting instruction as well as skateboarding demonstrations and a skate contest for prizes. All you need to participate in the fun is a bike, skateboard and helmet.

It’s time for the Great Cardboard Boat Race and whether you are a participant or a spectator you will want to see this. Head out to the Dacula Park Pool on Saturday, June 11 for racing events that will take place from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Want to compete? All you need to do is build your own cardboard boat and see if you can win one of the following categories: most creative, best costume, fastest boat and more. There will be swimming, activities and snacks available. All ages are welcome to participate.
