Dacula Patch: What's new in Dacula this week?

Mayor Wilbanks: This seems to be a quiet week for the folks at City Hall which is good in that it allows some time to catch up with things that have been postponed.

Dacula Patch: What is something Dacula residents need to know this week?

Mayor Wilbanks: One thing I hope folks will never say about me, “The Mayor is not engaged.” I hope everyone understands that I am engaged and am passionate about all things “Dacula.”

Dacula Patch: In your opinion, what is the worst intersection in the Dacula area and why?

Mayor Wilbanks: The very worst traffic intersection is Dacula/Harbins Roads and Winder Highway. It may not be the most dangerous, but if the traffic signal in that location is not set just right, traffic backs up in ways that affect the entire City. This is especially true from about 5-9 a.m. and from around 2-7 p.m. each day. The CSX bridge only compounds this traffic mess. Hopefully, new SPLOST money will be available (should the November SPLOST vote be successful) to help at this location and potentially for the deadliest intersection, near the City, the grade crossing of Harbins Road at GA 316.
