Georgia State Patrol Identifies Driver Killed in I-575 Crash - Woodstock Patch

The Georgia State Patrol has identified the driver of the gold Ford Explorer as 28-year-old Luca Garovi of Orcutt, Calif.

Garovi was killed on Interstate 575 northbound between Canton and Ball Ground in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon, authorities say.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Garovi's Explorer left the right side of the roadway at Bethany Road and struck a bridge pillar.

Cops: Man Poses as Doctor at Clinic - Douglasville Patch

A Douglasville man allegedly posed as a doctor at his Smyrna clinic and sexually battered a woman who went to the clinic last month for a required immigration physical, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

Patrick Ikponmwosu Ogbebor was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery and practicing medicine without a license.

According to the warrant, a woman went to the Mosthouse Lab Test & Healthcare Clinic on Feb. 21 to have an immigration physical, but Ogbebor "went far and beyond the standard set up by USCIS, Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record" when he administered a mammogram and a pelvic exam.

Fox Theatre to Launch Behind the Scenes Tours - Midtown Patch

Beginning April 1, Fox Theatre, the historical movie palace rich in performing arts and architectural history, will host regular tours of its magical venue.

Visitors will enjoy a 60-minute guided tour showcasing the must-see details of the Fox and its remarkable history. Entering through the same entrance as patrons did in 1929, visitors will tour over 10 locations throughout the building -- from the orchestra pit and Mighty Mo’, the largest working Moller theatre organ in the world to the Men’s Lounge featuring the original furniture chosen by the wife of movie-mogul William Fox.

- Cartersville Patch

A "big" house party Saturday night in Rydal attracted the attention of multiple neighbors, who complained, and sent some 30 people, mostly local and area teens, to jail on criminal trespass charges.

Authorities were called to the Indian Springs Drive home in Rydal shortly before midnight and found about 20 cars parked outside, a lot of alcoholic drinks lying around the home and a large amount of suspected marijuana in the refrigerator, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report.

Sheriff's Office Not Releasing Deceased Teen's Name or Cause of Death - Barrow Patch

Sheriff Jud Smith said Monday the department won't release the name of a teen who was found dead inside her Winder home Feb. 14. A former Winder-Barrow Middle School math teacher is facing charges in connection with the teen's death. 

The Barrow County Sheriff's Office says Emily Susan Smith, 37, of Junction Court in Winder, assisted the victim via cell phone in reference to obtaining a controlled substance prior to the teen's death. Emily Smith was booked into the Barrow County Detention Center March 6 and is charged with charged with reckless conduct, criminal attempt distribution of a controlled substance and use of a communication facility in commission of a criminal attempt to distribute a controlled substance.
