Weekend Planner: Dance Party, Kids Workshop, Movies and Music

A look ahead at weekend events in and around Dacula.

 

Stop in Dos Copas Friday or Saturday evening between the hours of 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. for a DJ Dance Party. DJ’s will be spinning your favorite dance hits late into the evening.

It’s the free Kids Workshop this Saturday at the Hamilton Creek Parkway location. Stop in with your children ages 5-12 and build a coaster set. Previous participants can wear their home depot aprons and new participants will be given an orange apron and the tools needed to complete the project. Everyone who completes the project will leave with an achievement pin.

It’s the Mall of Georgia Movie Under the Stars and Summer Concert Series this Saturday Night. The feature film will be Little Fockers and bands scheduled to perform are Samantha Stroh, the Woody’s and the Atlanta Groove. Little Fockers is rated PG13 and features Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. Take your blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy a night under the stars.

 

 

Cruise on in to Auburn on Sunday around noon and enjoy the City of Auburn Independence Day Celebration. There will be entertainment, food, arts and crafts and a car show for the whole family to enjoy.

 

 

Take a short drive up to Braselton and run in either a one-mile or 5K at Traditions of Braselton.  The races begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 4 and the proceeds from the race benefit the community of Braselton. Fees are $15 for non-residents of Traditions and $5 for kids twelve and under. Stay around after the race for a Fourth of July parade beginning at noon.
