Weekend Planner: Golf for Couples, Outdoor Festivals and Book Signings

A look ahead at weekend events in and around Dacula.

Don’t miss the family fun this Friday at 11 a.m. as the library puppeteers bring a new fun puppet show to the Dacula Library. This is a free event for children of all ages.

Couples are invited to play a round of night golf at the on Fridays. Tee times start at 5:30 p.m. and non-member couples can play for $16 per golfer. Members pay $9 per player. Contact the club for a tee time at 770-822-9220.

Enjoying the lazy days of summer? This Saturday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. you can enjoy the Lazy Daze Festival taking place in Winder. There will be outdoor music, food vendors and children’s activities. Don’t miss this year’s “Taste of Winder.”

Local restaurant is holding their 2nd Annual “Salute the Troops” party this Saturday evening starting at 6 p.m. This is a great chance for you to show your support for our troops. Head out and enjoy live music, a silent auction, raffles, food and more. There will be a $10 cover charge beginning at 10 p.m. Dress up and try to win the best military and patriotic attire contest.

Here’s your chance to meet four sports book authors at Coolray Field. Authors scheduled to appear include Dave Cohen, Alan Gratz, Hal Jacobs and Robert Weintraub. Books will be available for purchase at the event, which begins at 2 p.m.
