What Time Does the Post Office Close?
Today is tax day. If you are mailing your returns to the Internal Revenue Service, be sure to have them postmarked today.
If you have waited until the last minute to do your taxes, time is up. Today, April 17, is tax day. In order to meet federal filing deadlines, tax returns and extension requests must be postmarked today.
The will be open for regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. through 5 p.m. Several metro Atlanta post offices will have extended hours today for last minute filers. The closest location for Dacula residents is the Boggs Road Postal Store, located at 1605 Boggs Road in Duluth. The Boggs Road location will be staffed and collecting returns until midnight (see photos for operating hours of other metro area post offices).
Atlanta District Manager Sal Vacca recommends dropping off returns early in the day to avoid long lines of late filers. Vacca also recommends giving returns to outside collection employees where available.
