Woman Reportedly Threatens to Blow up Car, Says She Held Gun to Her Head to Make Husband Love Her

The 23-year-old Statham woman also had 12 outstanding warrants.

A dispute over a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am reportedly led to threats and the eventual arrest of a 23-year-old Statham woman on a slew of charges.

A Barrow County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to a Thurmond Circle address on May 6 after a Statham woman accused Erin Patrice Thomas, 23, also of Statham, of threatening to blow up the Grand Am. According to the arrest report, Thomas reportedly felt she should have the car due to an earlier agreement, but the Statham woman did not want to release the vehicle without first receiving payment.

The two women argued and Thomas left on foot. The Statham woman later went looking for Thomas and found her walking near Thurmond Circle. The Statham woman told the deputy that when she stopped to talked, Thomas began acting "very erratic."

The Statham woman said Thomas pulled up her shirt and displayed a black handgun. According to the report, Thomas warned the Statham woman to stay back and then reportedly threatened to go to the Statham woman's house and blow up the Grand Am. The Statham woman then left the area and called the authorities. Two witnesses corroborated the woman's story.

The deputy learned that Thomas was at a Jefferson Road home. By the time the deputy arrived, Thomas was standing on the porch with her hands in the air with a black pistol lying on the porch rail a short distance away.

"She yelled that she did not have the gun anymore and did not want to be shot," the deputy noted in the arrest report.
