Mountain View Athletic Association, in Dacula, has organized a fundraising baseball tournament to help a family in their community.

Earlier this year Abbie Williamson, a junior at Mountain View High School, was critically injured in an automobile accident near her neighborhood. The Williamson family had long been active both in the MVHS community as well as with the youth athletic association, MVAA.

"We are so glad that Abbie is recovering and thriving after her accident. But the rehabilitation process is long and costly," says Brian Mearkle, MVAA President. "We have already worked to raise money to help this great family deal with the mounting bills, and this tournament is just another example of regular folks doing whatever they can to help.  We have had so many families approach us and ask what they can do. Some of these people don't even really know the Williamsons.  But that's the MVAA and MVHS community for you.  We take care of our own."

The tournament will be held at Rabbit Hill Park in Dacula on May 17 and 18.
