New Carseat Laws Now in Effect

Did you know that the laws for child safety seats changed in July??

As a mother of three children, I was thrilled when the day finally arrived that all my boys were old enough to be carseat-free.  While I am happy there are laws in place to keep children safe, it was a relief that they were all old enough to be safe in the seatbelts our cars have just because it was simpler.

While having lunch with a friend yesterday, I discovered that the c.  My 7-year-old, who has been out of a car seat for a while, is now required to be in a booster seat in the car. Without even knowing it, I was open to a penalty of $50 if I had been pulled over and my child's safety was at risk.  Click here or here to view websites with all the changes to the child passenger safety laws and be sure to pass this along to anyone you know who may have missed this as well. By the way, 2011 Child Passenger Safety Week is right around the corner,  September 18-24. So, good luck telling your 7-year-old that they have to go back into a carseat! This news did not go over well at my house!
