Mayor Wilbanks: While we didn’t get too much rain from Hurricane Isaac, this may be a good time to remind residents about keeping curb lines, drop inlets, and drainage ditches clean and in good repair. A little maintenance really . Please don’t put trash in these areas. You have a responsibility (along your property lines)  to help keep these areas clean. The general rule is don’t litter.

Dacula Patch: What is the very first job you ever had and what was the most important thing you learned from that job?

Mayor Wilbanks: Teaching at Lilburn High School in the middle 60s was my first “real” job. I learned pretty quickly that I didn’t know everything. I also learned that school administrators didn’t know everything either. And to my great surprise, I learned that students really didn’t know everything either. The biggest revelation, I guess, was that I really liked working with people on problem solving issues. If you don’t learn something new every day, are you really alive?
