Deadline Fast Approaching: 19th Annual Memorial Day Parade

Be a part of an amazing experience on Memorial Day in Dacula.

The deadline for participating in the 19th Annual Memorial Day parade in Dacula is fast approaching. Parade entries must be postmarked before or on Friday, May 18, 2012. Any entries received after this date will not be accepted to participate in this year's parade. 

So, if you want to be a part of an amazing experience on Memorial Day in Dacula and participate in the ONLY Memorial Day parade in the metro Atlanta area, go to www.daculamemorialday.com and download the parade entry form, fill it out and drop it in the mail before the deadline date listed above.

There are NO “day of” or “drive up” entries allowed.  Only military or Veteran entries will be accepted after May 18, 2012.

The 19th Annual Memorial Day parade in Dacula will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28 at 10 a.m.  The parade theme is, “Their Sacrifice, Our Gratitude.” The Grand Marshal is Korean War Veteran, Bill Tiller, U.S. Navy.  The parade will take place rain or shine. 

The parade will step-off promptly at 10 a.m. from Hebron Baptist Church, proceed down Dacula Road toward the park, turns right on Second Ave. and ends at Dacula High School.

The 2012 Dacula Memorial Day Parade Committee invites all Veterans, Veteran organizations, Scouts, churches, schools, community organizations, businesses and community residents to participate.  If you are interested in participating in this year’s parade, go to www.daculamemorialday.com to download an entry form. 

In addition to the parade, there are other events planned for Memorial Day in Dacula beginning with a one mile Fun Run at 8 a.m., and a 5K run at 8:30 a.m. Both events start at the Dacula Public Library at the entrance to Dacula Park.  After the parade, plan on attending the Festival in Old Town Dacula. There will be lots of arts and crafts, civic organizations and food vendors along Second Avenue and Wilson Street and you can listen to, enjoy and watch local musicians and dance teams at the new gazebo!  

So bring your family and tell all your friends to come on out to Dacula for Memorial Day and experience the ONLY Memorial Day parade in the metro Atlanta area to honor our Veterans on Memorial Day! Let’s honor all who have served our Nation and reflect on the true meaning and significance of Memorial Day!
