More and more I am getting calls and emails from individuals and families who are looking into starting the process of purchasing a new home. Good news for sure, but who is is good news for? Buyers or Sellers? While interest rates continue to trend at record lows and buyers are starting to get more and more comfortable with the economy this is actually better news for Sellers than purchasers.
Currently in the Atlanta real estate market we are operating with around 26% LESS inventory of homes available to purchase than at the same time just a year ago. Supply and demand dictate that this will start to increase price levels as less inventory and more buyers start to drive up pricing.
As we look into the spring of 2013, Sellers will be at a advantage going into the busiest time of the year to buy and sell real estate.
