Who Can You Help Today?

Probably the best gift you can give to someone is to help them while expecting nothing in return.

The Holiday season is in full swing. Can you feel it? By now, we all have been bombarded with ad after ad for one sale after another offering 50 percent off this and buy one get one free of that.

Pretty soon, all the gifts will be wrapped and it will be time to finally relax and start to give thanks for the season.

Here's a thought though. What about taking a few minutes today or tomorrow to reach out to someone and see how you might be able to help them. I promise that this will most likely not cost you anything. Why not pick up the phone and call a friend or family member and ask them if there is any thing you can do for them.

Maybe it is a neighbor that needs a hand with some babysitting so they can finish up that holiday shopping and not have to pay a babysitter. How about that co-worker that you overhear every day on the phone telling others about how stressed they are this year finding the right gift for that special someone. Why not offer a hand in helping them?

Better yet, what about helping a person or persons that you know that may be out of work right now. Why not pick up the phone and find out what type of job they are looking for and see if you can help. I can almost guarantee that you know someone who knows someone that needs a employee that cannot seem to find the right fit and you might have a solution to their problem.

Probably the best gift you can give to someone is to help them while expecting nothing in return. If you are that person that is in need of some help finding work, email me and I will see what I can do to help. Let me know what type of work you are looking for and let me see what I can do. You never know what can happen if you simply ask.

Happy Holidays and let me know how I can help you today.

Matt

In 1963 I was 14 and somehow landed a job mowing the lawn and doing other things for a prominentRead More local surgeon who had a 10 acre estate. They had a riding lawn mower and I was game to do anything that involved gas engines! It was a 2 mile bike ride there and I could work whenever I wanted and they paid me 50 cents an hour, so I was bringing home six or seven dollars a WEEK!!!

Hate to say it, but I'm unimpressed with the new format. I know I'm in the minority, but the siteRead More seems pretty lame to me now.

Hi Ed - What don't you like? Is there anything about the redesign you do like? Also, please let ourRead More engineers/product people know by clicking on the green "Feedback" flag on the right side of the page. They do take feedback into consideration for future versions of the site. This design is very different from the Alpha version they began rolling out last year. They listened to feedback and made several changes, so feedback really does matter.

"There are people in all levels of government office who would like nothing more than to beRead More able to conduct all the public business out of public view" The problem is, who's going to stop them? Certainly--no one from this justice department who is complicit in multiple overreaches and coverups.

I wrote this on another post but it so applies here and is worth repeating: James Madison wrote inRead More the federalist paper (no. 51) concerning the separation of powers and need for limited government , "“ It may be a reflection on human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is, no doubt, the primary control on the government……” We need to have a "Madison moment"...
