Can You Say Hot? Warmer Temperatures on the Way

Enjoy the mild weather, the heat is coming!

I've been loving these mild temperatures and cool nights but I'm afraid all of that will be coming to an abrupt end. Beginning mid-week, we will very possibly see our high temperatures rocket into the 90s as a large area of high pressure settles over the southeast.

A front is expected to drop into North Georgia during the day on Monday and brings with it a chance of showers. Chances become less and less as you go further south unfortunately.

There will also be a chance of showers even on those really hot days depending on where the center of the high pressure settles. If were lucky enough to sit in the periphery of the high (known as the ring of fire), we can expect to see showers, otherwise, as you more more toward the center, you have less and less clouds and greater heat.

As for today, another great day in store. A few clouds this afternoon will help to keep temperatures in the low 80s, perfect for working in the yard! And speaking of working in the yard, I'm off to lay 80 bales of pine straw, if anyone wants to help they're welcomed to join me! :-)

Eighty bales should keep you busy! I only laid about 50 here and it was plenty of work. I'm still having oak seedlings popping up through the straw though. There were just way too many acorns last fall. I guess I'll get out and work on those today while the temperatures are still mild.

In 1963 I was 14 and somehow landed a job mowing the lawn and doing other things for a prominentRead More local surgeon who had a 10 acre estate. They had a riding lawn mower and I was game to do anything that involved gas engines! It was a 2 mile bike ride there and I could work whenever I wanted and they paid me 50 cents an hour, so I was bringing home six or seven dollars a WEEK!!!

"There are people in all levels of government office who would like nothing more than to beRead More able to conduct all the public business out of public view" The problem is, who's going to stop them? Certainly--no one from this justice department who is complicit in multiple overreaches and coverups.

I wrote this on another post but it so applies here and is worth repeating: James Madison wrote inRead More the federalist paper (no. 51) concerning the separation of powers and need for limited government , "“ It may be a reflection on human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is, no doubt, the primary control on the government……” We need to have a "Madison moment"...
