A very tragic severe weather event hit Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There are reports of two elementary schools being destroyed as well as complete neighborhoods.
The tornado struck about 3 p.m. and was on the ground about 40 minutes, the National Weather Service in Norman tweeted, and a tornado warning was in effect for 16 minutes before the tornado developed. The tornado is initially being described as an EF-4.
This is all breaking news and the extent of the destruction is still unknown.
