Celebration of Life Service Monday for Motorcyclist Killed on I-85

Lonnie Cross died from injuries sustained in a Sept. 14 accident. Known to family and friends as "world's greatest fisherman."

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Sept. 19 for a . The service for Lonnie R. Cross IV will begin at 4 p.m. at Lake Lanier Islands in Buford.

Cross, age 36, is survived by his wife, Gwenn Cranston Cross, Hoschton; son, Lonnie R. Cross V, Hoschton; daughter, McKinley Anne Cross, Hoschton; parents, Lonnie R. Cross III and Walda L. Cross, Panama, South America; sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Terrel Buchan, LaGrange, Ga.; sister Meredith Cross, Sharpsburg, Ga. and mother-in-law, Shelba Webb, Warm Springs, Ga.

Cross was born March 12, 1976 in Pennsylvania. He was employed by DISH Network in Suwanee. He was a member of the Lake Lanier Crappie Club. He was an avid fisherman and noted as the “world’s greatest fisherman.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lonnie R. Cross IV family in his memory.
