Mr. Clyde W. Calvit, age 78, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Monday, July 11 after losing a courageous battle with cancer.
Calvit was born October 16, 1932 in Newellton, La. He was a U. S. Navy veteran. He was a retired plumber. He was a member of Buford Church of Christ. He leaves a host of bowling friends on Club 55.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy Kendrick Calvit of Lawrenceville; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Debbie Calvit of Dacula, and Danny and Nita Calvit, Waller, Tex.; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Jerry Hatchett of Dacula, and Kathi and Terry Poole of Norcross; grandchildren: James and Joanne Calvit of Houston, Tex., Shelley Horton of Lawrenceville, Chris Koester of Waller, Tex., Bambi and John Avila of Buckholts, Tex., Alison and Jamie Bennett of Augusta, Timothy and Jessica Calvit of Winder, Ashley and Drew Coker of Atlanta and Justin and Abbey Hatchett of Buford; 16 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Sue Calvit of St. Martinville, La.; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Jarrell Prince of Homer, La. and numerous nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 14, at 3:30 p.m. at the Buford Church of Christ with Brother Jimmy Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at Buford Church of Christ on Thursday from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Buford Church of Christ in memory of Clyde W. Calvit.
