Mrs. Shirley A. Mason, age 73, of Lawrenceville passed away on Wednesday, April 20. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Willie Mae Alexander; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jerry Brown; granddaughter, Omie Marlowe, and mother-in-law, Omie Mason Gower. She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Perry D. Mason; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Pierce Marlowe, Monroe; sons and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Crissie Mason, Lawrenceville; son Kenny Mason, Lawrenceville; grandchildren Jeremy Mason, Myles Mason, Perry Marlowe, and Preston Marlowe; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Donald Heard, Duluth and Marsha Alexander, Buford; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janice and Donnis Etheridge, Auburn; brother-in-law, Jerry Mason, Oakwood; aunts, Ruth Cropper, Mary Jo Young, Bernice Lovell, and Ann Cook; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Mason was born on April 30, 1937 in White County, Ga. She was a 1955 graduate of where she was valedictorian of her class. Mrs. Mason was retired from Ever Ready Battery Company in 1999 and was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church since 1948.

Funeral service were held on Saturday April 23, 2011 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Interment followed at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville. The Dacula High School class of 1955 served as Honorary Escort.
