A listing of recent Dacula area death notices.

Mr. John S. Bond, age 89, of Buford and formerly of Bastrop, La. passed away on Tuesday, May 17. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years, Maxine Evans Bond and father and mother, James L. and Frances Elizabeth Bond. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Johnette Bond Alex and husband, Gary B. Alex of Dacula; grandchildren: Evans and Rene Howell of San Cruz, Calif., Ashley Howell Kaplan and husband, Adam Howell of Weston, Fla., Dr. Glenn Alex and wife, Arlene Alex of Athens and Gregg and Cynthia Alex of Salt Lake City, Utah; nine great grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Barney Clement of Spanish Fort, Ala.

Mr. Bond was born May 27, 1921 in Haynesville, La. He served six years in the U. S. Air Force where he was a 1st Lieutenant fighter pilot flying 36 missions over Germany in World War II. He was awarded the Air Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, the European Theater Medal with five Battle Stars, and received two unit Presidential Citations. He was a member of the 78th Fighter Group Association and a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Association.

Mr. Bond served as Mayor of the City of Bastrop for 16 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bastrop, La. and an ordained deacon.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 21 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. John D. DeGuido officiating. Interment followed at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northeast Georgia Hospice or to First Baptist Church of Bastrop, La. in memory of John S. Bond.

 Cecil P. Bryan, 81 of Lawrenceville passed away May 14. Mr. Bryan retired from AAA Cooper, he was an Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict, and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Coker Bryan; children: Susan Delaney and her husband Mike of Duluth and Alan Bryan and his wife Kelly of Dacula; grandchildren: Callie and Chase Bryan of Dacula, and Ansley Delany of Duluth; sister, Francis Bell and her husband Billy of Marietta, and also niece Terri Lewis of Woodstock.

The funeral service was held Tuesday May 17 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Kuykendall, Rev. Buddy Rhodes and Rev. Lloyd Ferguson officiating. Burial followed at Gwinnett Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church Building Fund, 1391 Braselton Highway, Lawrenceville, Ga. 30043.

Mary Evelyn Woodall age 97 of Dacula, passed away, Monday, May 16. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 19, in the Snellville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Neal officiating. Burial followed at Jackson Memorial Gardens in Commerce.

Mrs. Woodall was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church in Grayson. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law: Quillian D. Woodall of Cumming and Smitty L. and Nancy A. Woodall of Snellville; grandchildren: Erica Woodall of Dacula and Quillian L. Woodall of Gainesville.

Mary Wall, age 91 of Snellville, died Friday, May 13. Funeral services were held on Monday May 16 in the Snellville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Rev. Guy Priester and Dr. Hugh McDonald officiated. Interment followed at the Cemetery in Dacula.

A member of the Snellville First Baptist Church, Mrs. Wall was an accomplished seamstress, a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and was preceded in death by parents Ledus and Sally Adams; husband J.R. Wall; daughter Anita Wall Brown; brother Millard Adams; sisters: Alice Masters and Dorothy Swancey.

She is survived by son-in-law David and Kay Brown, Charlottesville, VA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Llewellyn and Hazel Wall, Auburn; sister-in-law Montine Cheek Adams, Snellville; special friends and neighbors Stan and Denise Pitts and their daughters Lindsey Pitts and Morgan Pitts all of Snellville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Silvin Lunsford, age 80 of Lawrenceville, passed away Tuesday, May 17. Funeral Services were held Friday, May 20 in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Dr. Preston Moore officiated. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrenceville.

Mr. Lunsford is survived by his wife of 59 years: Evalena Lunsford of Lawrenceville; children: Shirley and Mike Bennett of Dacula and Steve Lunsford of Loganville; brothers: Carl Lunsford of Auburn, Pete Lunsford of Monroe; sisters: Faye and Paul Maddox of Auburn, Vera Mae Craft of Suwanee and granddaughter Nicole Bennett of Smyrna.
