Woman Who Loved Crafting, Gardening, Fishing and Cooking Passes Away

Mary Jane Burke, 87, of Dacula, Ga., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 19, 2013.

Burke, a retired nurse, was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jim Burke.

Burke loved crafting, gardening, fishing and cooking. 

"She spent many hours with her ceramic group of ladies making platters and Christmas ornaments," her obituary states. "Her homemade pickles and artichoke relish was a family favorite. She taught all of her children how to fish, and spent many hours in her brothers yard catching dinner. Her love of cooking was passed on to her children, who enjoy trying to duplicate her recipes."

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, Ga.
