Dawgs vs. Rebels: Can UGA Keep the Momentum Going?

The Bulldogs are back in the driver's seat in the SEC Eastern Division after a big win against Florida last week. Will the Rebels spoil UGA's chances?

Against Ole Miss, the heavily favored Bulldogs need to avoid a letdown after last week's big win against Florida. The Associated Press reports that Georgia's won its last nine outings against Mississippi, and the 5-3 Rebels haven't won three in a row since 2009.

The next step for Georgia's emotional squad, heading into Saturday's Homecoming game against Mississippi, is to provoke fewer yellow hankies from the officials, Mark Weiszer reports for the Morris News Service. The Dawgs drew 14 penalties for 132 yards last week against Florida.

“I don’t want to lose intensity,” coach Mark Richt was quoted saying about the Florida game. “You want intensity with discipline. I didn’t want to slow down anybody’s ability to keep their blood hot.”

For his part, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze would prefer his team didn't do anything to rile up the already motivated Bulldogs.

"I don't think our players would even think to do that at the point we're at," Freeze said in a Chattanooga Times Free Press story. "We know we're still young and short on depth. Every game we play is going to be a great challenge for us regardless of who it is. It would shock me if our kids would do anything but tell the truth about how they view Georgia, which is that they're a fine football team."

What do you think? Is it smooth sailing for the Bulldogs from here on out? Tell us in the comments.
