In Response to "Phony Christians"

Can't seem to comment on your post, so I am hoping Adele Roberson reads this..

Wow.  Let me guess which local church you attend?  For the same reason that I stopped using the bible to support my political beliefs back when I was say, 21 years old, I won't bow to your level to try to use the Word of God to debate with you on this topic.  I will say that you are close.  Christians are not Liberal..they are Libertarians.  In fact, God, when he created Adam and Eve gave them freedom of choice.  If he wanted servants to his will, he would have created them that way.  Instead, he gave humans choice, the ability to choose.  This freedom is not without consequences.  If you use your choices to follow your own particular path, do the wrong things, you are responsible for where that path leads.  So as a Christian, many of my Christian friends are shocked when I tell them that we should not use the government to take away the freedom of choice that God gave to us.  To your comment, your only reading quotes from the bible, not even studying when each book was written, the context of why it was being said, etc.  As for Republicans/Christians being against Social Programs, you are simply wrong.  Conservatives out GIVE Liberals in charitable donations by a huge extent.  Look it up.  I can't speak for every Christian any more than I can speak for every Republican, Every Dacula Resident, or every Native American (although I am one).  What I can say, is that the Christians that I know who are Conservative, place their faith in God, not man.  We absolutely do not place our faith in Government.  We use the brain that God gave us to determine a good tree from a bad tree based on the fruit it bears.  Liberals keep giving us social programs that do not work.  We have a "house" full of broken programs.  Medicaid, Medicare, Post Office, Food Stamps, Social Security, Welfare, etc.  All of these programs that you are trumpeting as such wonderful things, are without argument, broken.  Every time a Republican tries to fix these programs to make them last a bit longer, Liberals cry out "They are trying to take your XXXX away!".  So instead of fixing it, it remains broken.  How does that serve the poor?  How does that serve the old?  Jesus never sat down and told his followers to go out and rob others and forcibly take money out of their homes to be given to the poor instead.  Jesus is about a personal relationship, listening to what he tells you to do, NOT doing the bidding of a Government so far curropted and not for the people it is ridiculous.  Jesus was about freedom, not enslavement.  Look at the slave class this country has created!  Can you point to any success that has sprouted from the "New Deal" or any deal since?  For all the money we throw at poverty, poverty continues to increase.  Look at the destruction Welfare and the New Deal unleashed on the Black family!  Before the New Deal, the Black family was one of the strongest in the country.  Now instead, by a huge percentage, the Children born to black mothers are without a father.  This is a White or Christian belief, but there are many black leaders (especially black Christians) who point to the distruction dealt to their community at the end of a hand holding a hand out. 

God gave us a brain to think.  Your post accuses without any proof.  You are obviously not listening to conservatives.  We are not against helping the poor.  We are not against everyone having healthcare.  We are against lies, programs, etc that take more and more money from the hard working, to give it to the Government to determine where it should be spent, most of the time, not solving the problem.  If you can look at the huge lack of efficiency in the governement, and how out of every dollar about 2 cents goes to the poor and you can still sit there and not find fault with these programs, or not want to change these programs...I question if you are still have brain function.  ME..I am for programs that work.  I already give a huge percentage of my check to the Government through taxes, yet the poor get poorer, the politicians get more power and my family goes without, more and more.  I end up working extra hard to connect the dots because of the money the governent steals from me.  Do you really think that is all the plan of God?  Really?
