Should Celebrities Be Allowed to Jump to the Front of the Line at Polls?

Usher was reportedly allowed to jump to the front of the line and then take photos of himself while voting. Is this fair?

Fulton County says superstar Usher was a model citizen when he voted in Roswell on Tuesday. Wouldn't we all be if we were afforded the same privileges?

A local resident in Roswell told Roswell Patch the international celebrity was able to skip past long lines of waiting voters with his own photographers in tow, despite posted signs that prohibited pictures and videos to be taken in the polling area.

Bob Giordano, a spokesperson with the Fulton County Office of Communications, confirmed Usher Raymond voted in Roswell. He said Usher did take photos, but not of the voting machines, only of people who wanted to pose with him.

People who waited in long lines for their turns at the voting machine and honored the rule not to take photos were not impressed. The argument that it was for security and crowd control reasons because of the celebrity status didn't impress others either. The argument was there is always absentee voting if that is likely to present a problem.

So what do you think? Should celebrities be given special privileges at the polls?

Girl, I've said tis before but will say it again for your benefit. YOU are the problem. Stop buying outsourced goods and goods won't be outsourced. Buy American and it will create jobs in America. I will also ask that you follow your own advice...get your news from a variety of sources. I don't watch Fox. Nor do I watch MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS. NBC, etc. All slanted and sources of deception.

So you think simply buying American will bring jobs back? I don't disagree that we should buy American but it won't create enough jobs. However one bigger more effective thing to do, is make it painful for businesses to outsource work out of our country to places that barely pay workers. The businesses that keep work in the US are the ones that should get tax credits not Exxon Oil or the like. I assume you really do watch Fox because your media mantra sounds like theirs. Interesting that you assume I don't take my advice. There are many sources for information if one is really looking for the truth and not looking for what backs up their own skewed views.

Actually if you only buy American it will create more jobs than we have people to fill. And I have never watched Fox News in my life. I usually watch the Today Show for the news highlights leaving the fluff stuff from Matt Lauer for my dogs to watch.

I read that the problem with some american made is that the retailers selling the products up the price of the american products to make the foreign ones cheaper.

I am a soon to be "Georgian". I reside in Virginia currently. With that aside, I have started reading the "Patch" to acquaint myself with the area. UGH - first thing I see is the eogtistical Usher showing all his insecurities by drawing attention to himself and the cowardice of those in charge to disallow this event. Virginia is looking better all the time. AQF
