Community Corner

You won't see educators celebrating or celebrated like this anywhere else.

The Bammy Awards has been called a "magical" evening of fun where educators are treated like rock stars and what's right in education is celebrated. Seating at the Bammy Awards is very limited, so blocks of seats are reserved for nominees, honorees, Academy members and the public.
The Bammy Awards acknowledge that teachers can't do it alone and don't do it alone. The Awards aim to recognize the collaborative nature of education, to encourage respect in and across the various domains, to raise the profile and voices of the many undervalued and unrecognized people who are making a difference in the field and to elevate educators, education and the value of life-long learning in the public eye. The Bammy Awards is a national celebration of the value of education, educators and life-long learning.  The honors are presented by the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences International, which includes an eclectic cadre of leading educators, education leaders, education professors, journalists, editors, researchers, commentators, advocates, activists, visionaries and pioneers.  The Academy is comprised of a Board of Govenors, a Council of Peers and the executive committee.
Envisioning a world that values education like it values entertainment.
The Academy presents two honors in every category -- the Bammy Award and the Educator's Voice Award. Members of the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences International select the Bammy Awards  honorees. However, you, the online education community, determine who receives the Educator's Voice Award by voting on the Bammy Awards web site for the nominated people, programs or organizations that you believe are making a significant difference in the field.
Congratulations to Linda Davis for being chosen the Educator's Voice Award honorees for 2013! She received the most community votes in her category of "Family Care Provider of the Year.* All honorees  automatically become members of the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences, Council of Peers. Honorees were also automatically submitted as candidates for a Bammy Award, to be presented the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences in Washington D.C. on September 21, 2013.
