It happened between 12:30-12:45...it was right pass Fort Daniels elem. Police were searching for the guy had k9s out...it was a really bad scene, had 324 closed...apparently he hit some one and a transformer...people said power wsd out 324 down to CVS... - Melissa B.
Yesterday between 11-12 at night the power for many local neighborhoods went out when a police chase led to a car smashing into a powerline pole. The accident occurred at the entrance to Windsong Park, the neighborhood in which I live. Police were at the entrance to windsong park and I do believe the man was caught. Power was out (Including stoplights) for many neighborhoods around Ft.Daniel Elementary and by Ingles. The stoplight in front of Little Caesars was working and power was fine in neighborhoods past the stoplight. Many residents that were still awake wandered the streets with flashlights or drove to see what happened. One lane of the two lane road that leads from Ingles to Kroger was closed from the entrance of Windsong Park to the 4 way intersection outside krogers.to repair the Lines. Power came back on sometime between 2-5 AM.
At around 12:45am, our power went out. Almost immediately we heard multiple sirens. When we went outside to see what happened, we saw a man in habdcuffs being led from the woods by policemen and a k-9 unit dog. There was a badly damaged white minivan in the ditch, and it appeared the van struck the power lines causing the outage. There was heavy police presence; I counted at least 8 at the accident site on Auburn Rd. near Fort Daniel Elementary, and exiting the surrounding subdivisions (Dacula Oaks, Daniel Park, and the one on the same street as the school. We would love to see a news report to know what happened. It was between 1 and 1:30 when the arrested man was pulled from the wooded area. Thanks! - Janet L.
Any news as to why Jackson electric had 2000+ customers without power at 12:35 this morning? We live in Charleston place off old fountain we were out and so were like 6 surrounding neighborhoods! Just curious! They were pretty fast fixing problem thank goodness! - Alicia P.
