Accused Teen Shoplifter Tells Police He's Sorry

The 18-year-old is charged with stealing gaming cards and a knife from the Hamilton Mill Walmart. An arrest isn't a conviction.

An 18 year old from Hoschton found himself in hot water this week after a security guard at the Hamilton Mill Walmart accused the teen of attempting to steal Yu-Gi-Oh! gaming cards and a knife.

The loss prevention officer told Gwinnett County police on Aug. 7 that he witnessed the teen open a pack of cards and the knife, collectively worth about $40, conceal both in a pocket and try to leave the store.

Andrew James Berrey reportedly told officers he was sorry for his actions before he was arrested on a misdemeanor theft by shoplifting charge.

Earlier in the week, police charged two women, Brittany Deann Keheley, 20, of Auburn and Amber Rene Robertson, 21, of Dacula, with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting at the Hamilton Mill Kohl's.

Store security personnel accused the women of entering a dressing room, concealing two sweaters in a shopping bag, and attempting to leave the store on Aug. 4.
