Another Theft Reported at Gold’s Gym

Victim's cell phone stolen while he worked out at the Auburn Road facility.

A Dacula man’s July 3 workout ended on an unpleasant note when he realized his cell phone had been stolen.

The victim told police he placed his gym bag in a locker prior to working out at . When he returned to his locker, the gym bag was gone. The police incident report did not indicate if the locker had been locked.

The victim searched the locker room and eventually found his gym bag in a toilet stall. His cell phone, a Sprint HTC EVO valued at $500, was missing.

Sprint traced the phone to a Lawrenceville address. The officer went to the address, but no one answered the door.

The case is listed as active.

In order to prevent car break-ins or theft of personal belongings, police recommend leaving valuables at home if possible. If you must bring valuables inside the gym, keep them with you at all times or place them in a secured locker. Do not leave keys, wallets, bags or other valuables unattended at any time.

Several Gold’s Gym visitors have been targets of crime over the past several months. Most of the incidents have been car break-ins.
