Apalachee Farms Home One of at Least Three Burglarized on Oct. 1

A homeowner thwarted an Oct. 1 attempted burglary at a fourth Dacula home.

An Apalachee Farms home was one of at least three burglarized on Oct. 1.

The Bent Tree Drive resident told police he left his home at 10 a.m. When he returned home at 11 a.m., he discovered someone had been inside the home and taken a laptop computer.

According to the police report, the burglar or burglars entered the home through a back window after cutting the screen.

The case is listed as active.

Police are also investigating several other similar incidents that took place on Oct. 1. Around 10 a.m. on Oct. 1, a Hamilton Mill resident frightened away a pair of would-be burglars who attempted to break into her Floral Ridge Drive home. Just after 4 p.m. on Oct. 1, Gwinnett County Police were called to a Archmont Circle home after a resident returned home and discovered the house had been burglarized. Approximately 45 minutes later, police were dispatched to a Town Manor Court home, also located in Hamilton Mill, in response to another burglary.
