Argument at Tennis Court Lands Woman in Jail

Sister also ends up in jail, but on different charges.

A sibling argument that got out of hand ended in the arrest of a Suwanee woman on disorderly conduct charges.

Two Gwinnett County Police officers were dispatched to the Belfaire subdivision just before 2 a.m. on Sept. 8 in response to a report of a domestic dispute. The officers eventually located the parties involved in the dispute at the tennis courts.

One of the officers immediately noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the two sisters. In the arrest report, the officer noted he was trying to gather information when one of the women, Theresa Stockinger, 26, started "yelling and screaming" at her sister.

"She refused all commands to calm down and then refused to answer any questions," the officer wrote in the report.

Due to the late hour, "loud and boisterous" behavior and the fact neither of the women lived in Belfaire, the officer placed Stockinger under arrest for disorderly conduct.

While it was her behavior in the subdivision that landed one Stockinger sister in jail, it was how they got there that landed the other one behind bars.

Andrea Stockinger, 27, told the other officer that her sister had been drinking at a bar, so she came to pick her up. After leaving the bar, Andrea realized she had too much to drink and pulled into Belfaire subdivision.

Andrea said her sister became angry and began cussing at her, so she got out of the car. Once Andrea was out of the car, Theresa reportedly locked the doors and wouldn't unlock them.

When questioned, Andrea admitted she had a few drinks with friends at Del Rio and left from there to pick her sister up at an unspecified bar.

After administering field sobriety tests, the officer placed Andrea under arrest for DUI. Andrea was also charged with an open container violation after admitting a flask found in the vehicle was hers.

The parents of the siblings were called to the scene to remove the vehicle in which the sisters had been traveling.

Theresa Stockinger was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail without incident and booked on a single charge of disorderly conduct. She was released a few hours later on a $135 bond.

Andrea Mary Stockinger was booked into jail on charges of DUI and violating Georgia's open container law. She was released from jail at 7:21 a.m. on Sept. 8 -- two minutes after her sister -- on a $2,305 bond.
