Arrest Made in Burglary Cases Involving Green SUV

Police still seeking additional suspects.

One man has been arrested and two others are being sought in connection with a series of burglaries in the Dacula area.

The burglaries, which began the week of Oct. 12, involved witness reports of a dark green sport utility vehicle. Gwinnett County Police were able to identify the vehicle as a 1998 green GMC Jimmy. A description of the vehicle and the tag number were distributed as a BOLO (Be on the lookout) to uniform officers.

A detective developed a lead on the identity of the driver through the use of the department’s pawn shop transaction database. As a result of the investigation, warrants for burglary and theft by deception were obtained against Darryl Kevin Aiken, 21, of Loganville, in connection with two pawn transactions of stolen property.
