Brazen Burglars Steal Lawnmower, Paint Sprayer

Church, Hamilton Mill home burglarized while victims present.

Brazen burglars recently struck a local church and a Hamilton Mill home.

On April 13, a Greenside Court resident walked into his garage and discovered his lawnmower was missing. The victim said the garage door was open at the time of the theft.

The lawnmower, a red Toro self-propelled push mower with a broken wheel, was the only item taken. According to the police report, the victim and his wife were home during the burglary, but did not hear anything.

On April 12, an equally brazen burglar reportedly walked into the Victory Hamilton Mill Church and stole a paint sprayer while two men worked nearby.Β  One of the men said he and another employee were working in an elevator shaft at the church. The paint sprayer, valued at $1,500, was on the floor outside the shaft. When one of the men went to retrieve the paint sprayer, he discovered it had been taken.

Another worker at the location told police a bald white male between six-feet and six-foot-three inches tall, weighing 250 to 280 pounds walked into the church around the time of the theft. The worker said the bald man asked for a cigarette before leaving the scene. According to the worker, the bald man was wearing a red shirt, black shorts and sandals. The worker said he thought the male was suspicious due to the fact he was wearing sandals at a construction site.
