Burglar Gains Access to Buford Restaurant Through Ceiling Tiles

Officers report smelling burning metal and finding two holes cut in the side of a metal safe.

Police believe a burglar in Buford gained entry into a restaurant office through a ceiling tile.

Gwinnett County officers responded to a burglary report on Nov. 11 at the On the Border restaurant in the 3200 block of Buford Drive. The store manager told police he found items from an office, along with ceiling tiles, out of place and items from a desk knocked to the floor.

Officers noted that it appeared as if the burglar entered through the ceiling and placed a chair by a filing cabinet to climb back out of the office. A large footprint was found in the seat of the chair.
