Car Burned in Parking Lot of Dacula Business

Owner reports vehicle stolen only to learn it had been found on fire earlier that day.

The case of a stolen vehicle was quickly solved when officers realized the missing vehicle had been found on fire earlier that day.

A Lawrenceville man contacted the after discovering his 2008 Cadillac was missing. The victim said he parked his vehicle at a business in the 1300 block of Auburn Road on June 3. When he returned the following day, his vehicle was gone. The victim noticed broken pieces of glass on the ground where he had last seen his car.

Shortly after taking the report regarding the stolen vehicle, the responding officer learned that an investigator had been called to the incident location earlier that day in response to a vehicle fire. The description of the burned vehicle and the license plate number matched the victim’s vehicle.

According to the report, the cause of the fire is undetermined. The case is listed as active.
