Car Window Smashed at Daycare, Business Owner Suspects Salesman

There were no witnesses to the incident.

A daycare owner believes a salesman may be responsible for an Oct. 14 car break-in at a Dacula daycare.

An employee of the Hamilton Mill Parkway daycare said she returned to work after lunch at 12:40 p.m. An hour later, she was advised by another employee that her front passenger side car window had been smashed.

The employee went to check on the car and discovered her Pittsburgh Steelers purse, which she had left on the front passenger seat, was missing. The purse contained the employee's driver's license, a bank card, WIC vouchers, a phone charger and Social Security cards for her and her four children.

The owner of the daycare said she keeps track of the vehicles at the school at all times. The only suspicious people at the daycare around the time of the incident, according to the incident report, were a salesman claiming to be with a floor refinishing company out of Alpharetta and his female passenger. That salesman's vehicle, another employee noted, was parked next to the victim's vehicle. The female passenger remained in the car while the salesman went inside, the other employee added.

The case is listed as active.
