Collins Hill Student Arrested at Dacula Football Game

Teen charged with underage possession of alcohol.

A citizen report of underage drinking in Dacula Park led to the arrest of a Lawrenceville teen on Sept. 7.

Gwinnett County Police officers were dispatched to the park after a citizen reported that several high school students were drinking at the location.

While officers were at the park, a Dacula High School administrator detained two Collins Hill students who were trying to enter the football stadium. The administrator informed a GCPD officer working at the Dacula High School football game the students had been drinking and that he and a Collins Hill High School administrator were going to look for several other students who had walked away.

GCPD, Gwinnett County Public Schools Police and school administrators interviewed several students regarding whether or not they had been drinking. One of the students, Ethan Mott, 18, of Lawrenceville, became “very verbal” according to the police report. An Alco Sensor evaluation indicated Mott had a breath alcohol concentration of .140.

“Mr. Mott continued to be very verbal and at that time I placed Mr. Mott under arrest for underage possession of alcohol,” the officer wrote in the arrest report.
