Crime on the 12th Hole: Unattended Golf Cart Targeted by Thief

Golfer saw a suspicious male near the golf cart and "got a bad feeling."

An Aug. 21 golf outing at the Trophy Club of Apalachee ended abruptly with the theft of a $700 smart phone.

A Canton man said he and his golfing partner were on the 12th green when they noticed a male near their golf cart. The Canton man said he and his friend had seen the male a couple of times that day and had even spoken to him when they stopped to tee off on the 11th hole.

The Canton man said he "got a bad feeling" when he saw the male put something in his pocket while next to the golf cart. As soon as the two men reached the cart, they realized the Canton's man iPhone5 was missing.

The golfers described the suspect as a white male who "looked to be in high school." At the time of the incident, the male was wearing a dark-colored t-shirt, tan shorts and was possibly riding a purple 15-speed bike. According to the golfers, the male appeared to be between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and had blond, curly hair that was longer on the top than the sides.
