Dacula Man Arrested During Drug Raid

A Dacula man is facing 18 charges ranging from drug possession to battery as a result of an Aug. 4 raid on a Hoschton home.

Barrow County SWAT and Crime Task Force officers executed a search warrant at a Highway 124 residence as part of an investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics at the location.

Officers found methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription medications and other drug related items in the master bedroom of the home. A total of 12 firearms, included two sawed-off shotguns, were discovered concealed throughout the home. One of the weapons was found hidden inside a washing machine, another was located in the fireplace.

Four people were at the residence at the time of the raid and were taken into custody.

Danny Bailey, of 2808 Majestic Circle in Dacula, was one of the arrestees. Bailey has been charged with 12 counts of possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes, possession of methamphetamine, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, criminal use of an article with an altered identification, aggravated assault, battery and a probation violation.

Ray Saxon Hall, Brandon Lee Hammock and Stephanie Lynn Lee, all of 1187 Highway 124 in Hoschton, are facing similar charges.

Hall was also charged with theft by receiving stolen property after officers found a stolen Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver on his person.

Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said he is very happy with the results the Crime Task Force has produced for the community. He also praised the performance of the SWAT team.

"The SWAT team was called in due to information we received about the main target having several guns in the home," Smith emailed. "All parties complied and no one was injured during the execution of the search warrant and raid. We are fortunate at the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office to have a highly trained and professional SWAT team that can keep the public safe, each other safe, as well as the suspects involved."
