Dacula Man Charged With Child Molestation in Oconee County

A 17-year-old old Dacula man has been charged with molesting a pre-teen girl while in Oconee County.

Samuel Crawford McAllister was booked into the Oconee County Jail on May 10 on one count of child molestation and released on a $30,000 bond the following day.

Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry said investigators worked closely on the case with the Gwinnett County Police Department, where initial reports were filed, and learned multiple incidents of molestation allegedly occurred at an undisclosed location in Oconee County over the last year.  In order to protect the identity of the victim, Berry did not disclose additional details other than to say McAllister knew the victim and her family.

"We've got one count filed at this time," Berry said.  "We'll be presenting it for indictment and look at additional charges."

McAllister is not currently enrolled in any high school, according to Berry.
