Mail theft, car break-in reported in Hamilton Mill.

Gwinnett County Police are investigating a recent car break-in that occurred outside the Hamilton Mill clubhouse.

The victim told police someone entered her vehicle and stole a GPS unit, her purse, a wallet, several credit cards and social security cards.

According to the police report, the thief or thieves used one of the stolen credit cards at a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant before the victim had the opportunity to cancel it.

The vehicle was unlocked at the time of the theft.

Police are also investigating a theft of mail at another Hamilton Mill location. An Autumn Sage Drive resident returned from an out-of-town trip and discovered a package containing a printer cartridge had been opened and the contents removed.

The woman also filed a report with the United States Postal Service.

  • Entering auto in the 2400 block of Hamilton Mill Road.

Feb. 5

  • Theft by shoplifting in the 3200 block of Sardis Church Road.
  • Disorderly conduct in the 2400 block of Hamilton Mill Road.

Feb. 6

  • Battery in the 4100 block of Rovello Way.
  • Vandalism in the 2400 block of Lance Ridge Way.
  • Simple battery in the 2200 block of Stanley Road.
