Dacula Woman Receives Suspicious Money Order in FedEx Package

Woman calls police after discovering $900 money order in unexpected delivery from package carrier.

A Dacula woman called police on March 8 after receiving a FedEx package containing what appeared to be a fraudulent money order in the amount of $900.

The victim’s name was on the money order along with the name Andy Cardon from Seattle, Wash. The victim said she had not purchased any items online and had not been out of the state of Georgia recently. She further advised that she was not expecting a money order.

The officer noted the money order was a U.S. Post Office money order with a contact phone number on the package. When the officer called the number, the call went to voicemail and the following message played: “If you're calling for Mary or you received a check in the mail, hang up and call the police. Do not call this number again.”
