Fire Danger Remains High

Strong winds and dry fuels creating hazardous conditions.

High fire danger conditions are expected again today for North and most of Central Georgia due to strong winds and dry fuels.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a special weather statement warning of dangerous conditions from mid-morning through the early evening hours for areas including Dacula.

Sustained winds of 15 m.p.h. or greater are expected with gusts up to 25 m.p.h. Relative humidity will remain above 25 percent.

The NWS advises residents to consult local burn permitting authorities prior to burning. Anyone doing any outside burning should use extreme caution.
