Firefighters Kept Busy With Dacula House Fire, Tree on House

Firefighters responded to two incidents Thursday evening.

Gwinnett County firefighters were called to the 3200 block of Stancil Drive just after 7 p.m. on Aug. 22 in response to a working house fire.

Upon arrival, crew found heavy smoke showing from a one-story home. Crews immediately entered the home, but had to withdraw due to intense heat and fire, according to an email sent to media outlets by Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services public information officer Capt. Tommy Rutledge.

"There is no word on the cause and no injuries have been reported this far," Rutledge wrote.

Earlier Thursday evening, firefighters responded to a report of a tree down on a house in the 1600 block of Mapmaker Drive in Dacula. The home sustained ceiling damage and a broken window, but no injuries were reported.
