“No words can adequately express the thrill and gratification we all felt when our post’s name was called in front of thousands of people, not once, not twice, but three times,” Pollock said in a released statement.

Pollock said the annual competition is an opportunity for the Explorers to show the results of their hard work throughout the year. Explorer Posts from as far away as Louisiana, Missouri and Florida traveled to Tennessee to take part in the event.

Law Enforcement Exploring, one of the Boys Scouts of America Learning for Life programs, gives young men and women the opportunity to learn about careers in law enforcement. Participants learn about criminal law, search and seizure, crime scene investigations and other related topics through a combination of hands on training and classroom instruction.

“Being a part of an organization where people are willing to pull together in order to help others accomplish their goals is an honor,” Pollock said. “The Explorer program is such a valuable part of helping today’s youth by continuing the training and honor that embodies the Gwinnett County Police Department.”
