GCPD Introduces Online Crime Reporting System

New system allows certain crime reports to be filed electronically.

The Gwinnett County Police Department has introduced an online citizen police reporting system to allow county residents to submit reports of certain types of crime.

In order to use the online system, the incident must have occurred in Gwinnett County (in the case of identity fraud, it is only necessary the victim reside in the county), there must be no known suspects (description and/or name) or suspect vehicle descriptions (tag numbers), and no physical evidence to collect or process. Additionally, the incident must have occurred within Gwinnett County Police jurisdiction. If the incident occurs inside a city with its own police department (Braselton, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Loganville, Norcross, Snellville or Suwanee), that agency must be contacted.

Citizens who use the online system may submit a report immediately and print a free copy of the police report. Reports of theft by taking, entering auto, identity fraud, criminal trespass (vandalism or damage to property of $500 or less), criminal damage to property in the second degree (vandalism or damage to property greater than $500 with no danger to human life or involving a utility like water, gas, or power) and theft of lost or mislaid property may be reported using the new system.
