GCPD Officer Arrested for Furnishing Obscene Material to Minors

Officer graduated from the Gwinnett County Police Department Academy earlier this month.

A new officer’s career has been cut short after his arrest for electronically furnishing obscene material to minors.

The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested David D. Lowe, 26, as a result of an investigation prompted by a tip from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI). According to a GCPD press release, the GBI sent notice to the GCPD Special Victims Unit regarding an explicit video posted on www.myyearbook.com, a website designed for use by minors.

The investigation led police to Lowe’s home. After obtaining a search warrant, detectives searched Lowe’s home and computers on Friday, May 25.
