Gold's Gym Video Shows Car Break-in

Gwinnett County Police are investigating the latest break-in at the Dacula workout facility.

Surveillance video may hold a clue that will help police solve the latest car break-in at .

Police were called to the Auburn Road workout facility on March 26 after a gym client’s car was entered. The incident was captured on video surveillance.

According to the police report, the video shows a silver sport utility vehicle pull into the parking lot from Jim Moore Road. The vehicle, which appeared to be occupied by two people, circled through the parking lot before the driver pulled into an open space.

The video shows the driver exit the vehicle and scan the parking lot. After a few moments, a gym customer leaves. When the customer leaves, the suspect quickly moves his vehicle into the recently vacated parking space towards the rear of the parking lot. The suspect then quickly jumps out of his vehicle and begins checking doors of the cars parked near his. The video shows the suspect open the door of a black Ford Taurus and remove a purse. After taking the purse, the suspect returns to his vehicle and leaves the scene.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 20 to 30 years of age. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing an orange hat, an orange and white shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. The investigating officer was unable to obtain a tag number for the vehicle due to the video quality.

The victim’s purse contained cash and miscellaneous identification cards. The victim told police she had left her car doors unlocked.

The case is listed as active.
