Witness hears glass breaking, sees suspect reaching into car.

Another daytime car break-in was reported last week at in Dacula. The break-in is the .

On the morning of July 19, a Hoschton woman was walking across the parking lot of Gold’s Gym when she heard the sound of glass breaking. When the woman turned in the direction of the noise, she saw a black male with short hair reaching inside a white Toyota Camry. According to the witness, the suspect looked up and saw her looking at him. At that point, the male got into a black four-door Chevrolet parked directly behind the Camry and drove away. The witness called 911, but could not provide police with a model or tag number for the suspect’s vehicle. She was also unable to provide any further physical description of the suspect or the suspect’s clothing.

According to the police report, the owner of the Camry left her purse inside the vehicle while she worked out at Gold’s. The thief took the purse, which contained the woman’s credit card, debit cards, gift cards, cash, driver’s license and a copy of her daughter’s social security card.

While police were at the scene, the victim notified her credit card company of the theft and learned the card had just been declined at the Shell station located at the corner of Winder Highway and Auburn Road. No surveillance video was available from the Shell station or from Gold’s Gym.

The case is listed as active.

Gold’s Gym manager Joan Ferrante declined to comment on the thefts, referring all questions to Gold’s Gym corporate officials. As of this article’s post time, officials had not responded to calls and email seeking comment.

It is incredibly brazen of these criminals. I am truly surprised there haven't been other witnesses given that most of these seem to be taking place in broad daylight.

I know Kristi, people are constantly going in and out of the gym. And then you also have the Fatso's and CVS traffic right there. I'm thinking of getting into the car window business, I could be rich by now.

Lol! Sad, but true. Let's hope someone gets a tag number of this suspect's vehicle soon and a detailed description. Or, better yet, maybe someone will whip out their phone and get a video or photo since there is no surveillance in the parking lot. This has been going on for months. I can't believe this thief or thieves have not been identified.

People just need to stop leaving their valuables in their cars!!! It's like leaving sugar out knowing that you are going to attract ants! No sugar, no ants! They go someplace else!

I'm with Mitch and Sheri both. I don't feel sorry for anyone who has left their valuables in their car and has them stolen- especially if their car was parked at this particularly infamous Gold's gym. Stupid is as stupid does, so the saying goes.
